Exclusion Explanation:	This species was reported from a single site in Jackson County. A later description of a new species Heteranthera missouriensis C.N. Horn resolved taxonomic ambiguity within the genus (Horn 2020). The collection from Jackson County is identifiable with the new species and not H. multiflora thus excluding H. multiflora from the Alabama flora. Horn, C.N. 2020.
