Habitat:WINE BERRY. LOCALLY COMMON, IN ROCKY SOILS OVER LIMESTONE, AT BASE OF LIMESTONE BLUFF AND ON LOWER SLOPES OF CUMBERLAND PLATEAU ESCARPMENT. FRUITS SCARLET RED WITH DARK PURPLE HIGHLIGHTS WHEN RIPE, MILDLY SWEET. A NATURALIZED ESCAPE FROM CULTIVATION.
