Description:Plants partially immersed with emergent stems bearing spikelets (4-5 mm in length) in elongated panicles (not small axillary racemes that are enveloped within the sheaths). Immature fruits are striate. Common
Habitat:In shallow (6-12 in.) flowing water of creek. Associated with Sparganium americanum; Orontium aquaticum and Mayaca fluviatilis are also present but less abundant.
